A graduate of the Sorbonne, he has been deeply engaged in the Chinese contemporary art scene for over 20 years, sharing his time between Shanghai and Jingdezhen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thircuir\u2019s curatorial approach blends academic depth with playfulness and accessibility, aiming to create tangible, material experiences that resonate with a broad audience. His practice is grounded in a pragmatic and sensorial understanding of art, often revolving around themes such as the reinterpretation of traditional forms, craft, and the ecological and cultural dimensions of food and agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His projects span a wide range of media \u2014 from ceramics to fermentation \u2014 and often blur the lines between exhibition, design, and research. Notable curatorial works include&nbsp;<em>The Farm<\/em>&nbsp;for the K11 Art Foundation, exploring agriculture in contemporary art;&nbsp;<em>As Time Goes By<\/em>, the first contemporary art exhibition in Suzhou\u2019s UNESCO-listed Surging Wave Pavilion; and&nbsp;<em>Another Landscape<\/em>&nbsp;at the Yang Art Museum, a survey of contemporary landscape photography in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thircuir is also an independent publisher, having produced books featuring artists such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Liu Xiaodong, and Xu Bing.
